Should I work out in the morning?
Morning workouts have advantages: they finish before the day's interruptions, reinforce circadian rhythm via bright light + activity, and improve later sleep quality. But evening workouts are equally effective for fitness — pick what you'll actually do consistently.
The morning benefits
Outdoor morning workouts deliver bright light + movement, two of the strongest circadian anchors. They also reduce decision fatigue (the workout is done before competing priorities emerge).
Evening workouts
Evening workouts produce slightly better strength gains for some athletes (body temperature peaks late afternoon). They do not disrupt sleep unless within 2 hours of bed.
The real lever
Consistency matters far more than time of day. Pick the slot you can hold 4–6 days a week.
