The full mission menu (12 total)
ByeBed groups its 12 missions into four categories. Each can be set to easy, medium, or hard difficulty.
Cognitive (3 missions)
- Math. Typed answer on a numeric keypad. No multiple choice. Difficulty scales to multiplication 12×12.
- Memory Cards. Match pairs of hidden cards. Pure working memory.
- Memory Sequence (Simon Says). Repeat a growing sequence of colors or symbols.
Physical (2 missions)
- Push-ups. 5, 10, or 20 reps counted by the front camera via Apple Vision body pose detection. 100% on-device.
- Shake. Vigorously shake the phone for a set duration. Accelerometer-based.
Photo / vision (3 missions)
- Photo of the sky. On-device recognition verifies the sky is in frame. Forces you to a window or outside.
- Photo of a made bed. On-device recognition checks the bed is made — forcing the morning habit itself.
- Photo of a random object. The app names an object (e.g., "kettle", "toothbrush") and verifies you photographed it.
Mini-games & fine motor (4 missions)
- Drawing. Trace a requested shape with your finger. Fine motor control plus visual attention.
- Maze. Navigate a small maze from start to finish.
- Snake. Classic Snake mini-game to a target score.
- Flappy Bird. Classic Flappy Bird mini-game to a target score.
Why varied missions
Different missions activate different brain systems. Photo and drawing missions activate visual processing; push-ups activate motor and cardiovascular systems; math activates working memory; mini-games activate hand-eye coordination. Varying them prevents adaptation — your brain doesn't learn to autopilot through one mission type.
Pick what matches you
Math-averse? Use the photo or push-up missions. Want a gentler wake? Shake or Snake. Need maximum challenge? Hard difficulty math, 20 push-ups, or Memory Sequence on hard.
Tired of hitting snooze?
ByeBed replaces the snooze button with a mission. Math, push-ups, photo. The alarm only stops when you complete it. Free to try.
